Youth Police Academy |
|
|
 |
The Willingboro Township Police
Department will be hosting its 4th
Youth Police Academy. The Cadets
will be instructed by actual police
instructors on the topics that
Police Recruits are taught in the
Police Academy. This academy will
not in any way certify a person as a
police officer or empower them with
police duties or responsibilities.
Purpose:
The purpose of this program is to
help foster a better relationship
between the Youth of Burlington
County and the Willingboro Police
Officers through education and
training.
When:
The first day of the
academy will start on Monday, August
5th and conclude Friday, August
23rd. It will run for three weeks
with students meeting every Monday -
Friday from 730am until
approximately 4:00pm.
Where:
The Youth Police Academy will
be conducted at the JFK Center
located at 429 JFK Way. However
there will be several off site
excursions during the academy.
Who:
The academy is open to
residents of Burlington County 14
years of age to 17 years of age. All
applicants interested in attending
the academy must complete an
application; Class size will be
limited to approximately 30
students.
Any applicant that is found to have
falsified information or left part
of the application incomplete will
be rejected. The Director of Public
Safety or their designee will make
the final decision as to which
applicants are accepted into the
Youth Police Academy. In case there
are more eligible applicants than
available positions in the academy,
applicants will be placed on a
waiting list and will have first
priority for future academies.
|
All completed applications
will be delivered to the
Willingboro Police Station
prior to June 7, 2013. |
